Explore > Harlow Carr
The gardens of Harlow Carr have been owned by the Royal Horticultural Society since 2001. They were developed in 1950 by the Northern Horticultural Society to develop and test plants for a northern climate. They are now home to a multitude of different planting areas from flowers to vegetables to woodland, designed to encourage and inspire gardeners of all abilities. There is a new learning centre under constuction, and a programme of themed open days, crafts and other events through the year for adults and children. Refreshments are available at Betty's Tea Room, and something to take home from the RHS shop and plant centre.
