18 or under? Avoid paying full fare30-11-2016
Are you 18 or under, and paying the full adult fare whenever you use the bus?
This could be the oddest advice you've ever had from a bus company - but we mean it.
We don't want you to be paying full fare if you're 18 or under. Money is meant for better things than spending on bus travel, right? We know that the bus is your ticket to freedom, and with free WiFi and USB power on lots of our buses, we also help you to stay connected with your friends.
So, to help you save your cash for more important stuff, we've put together this handy guide to cheaper travel for you.
Pay upfront and save the most
We've got a range of term and season tickets that will give you unlimited access to our bus networks over a set period. Here's your options.
|Harrogate Student Term||£225|
|Student Harrogate Plus zone - 12 month||£550|
|Weekly and Monthly tickets (save 33% with BOB - see below!)|
Unsure of what areas these tickets cover? Take a look at our area maps.
If the Bank of Mum & Dad (or somebody else) pays for your travel, you should let them know that paying up front and online is the easiest and safest way to travel. It's very safe and secure, and if your ticket is lost or stolen, we can freeze the card and arrange a new one for you, for only a small admin fee.
Pay as you go with BOB
Want to just pay single and return fares on the bus? BOB's your uncle!
OK, he probably isn't. BOB is actually our clever little card that gives you an instant 1/3 off the normal adult fare, just by touching on the ticket machine when you board the bus.
A BOB card costs just £5, and then it's yours forever. The discounts will just keep on coming every time you bob about town on our buses, until you hit your 19th birthday.
Get your BOB card application from the Info Hub at Harrogate Bus Station, or apply online here.
And there you have it - your tickets to paying less for your bus travel. It's a no brainer, so make your choice, start saving and decide what you're going to do with all that extra cash!
