Closure of Starbeck Crossing over the May bank holiday weekend

Starbeck Crossing will be closed over the late May bank holiday weekend for engineering works, from 10pm on Friday 26 May through to 6am on Tuesday 30 May.

Whilst the works are taking place, the crossing barriers will be down, and no traffic will be able to cross.

Heading out of Harrogate during this time, buses on the 1 will run along their normal route until they reach the Empress roundabout, close to the hospital. From here, buses will run non-stop along Wetherby Road and Hookstone Chase, before rejoining the normal route on the other side of the Starbeck Crossing at Forest Lane Head.

Buses running from Knaresborough to Harrogate will use the reverse of this route. This means that if you normally get on the bus at either The Avenue or Starbeck High Street, you'll need to walk to either Forest Lane Head or the stop outside our bus depot to catch your bus.

If you're catching a bus along Knaresborough Road, we'll be running a shuttle service between Starbeck and Harrogate bus station. The shuttle service will start and finish from the stop outside our bus depot, running to and from Harrogate using the normal route.

Buses will run every 12 minutes along Knaresborough Road on Saturday 27 May, and every 15 mins on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May.

We're sorry for any inconvenience these works cause. Follow and tweet us @harrogatebus, where we'll keep you up to date.
